The story of K.S. Durlabhji began over a century ago, when Durlabhji Tribhuvan, a distinguished jeweller from Morvi, embarked on a journey to Jaipur in 1908. Drawn to a city celebrated for its master craftsmen and vibrant gemstone trade, he laid the foundation of a family legacy that would redefine Indian jewellery on the global stage. 

Over the decades, the Durlabhji family became synonymous with exceptional gemstones, uncompromising craftsmanship, and an entrepreneurial spirit that extended far beyond India's borders. What began as a family enterprise evolved into one of the world's most respected names in fine emeralds and high jewellery.

The Legacy of Padmashri Khailshanker Durlabhji

Among the most influential figures in the family's history was Padmashri Khailshanker Durlabhji—a visionary whose courage transformed both a family business and an entire industry.

His bold acquisitions of Colombian emeralds after the Second World War and later the legendary Sandwana emerald production established the Durlabhji name among the world's foremost authorities on emeralds. Revered internationally as "The Emerald King," he was celebrated not only for his extraordinary eye for gemstones but also for his ability to envision opportunities where others saw uncertainty. 

His influence extended well beyond commerce. As the Founder Chairman of the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC), he played a pivotal role in shaping India's gem and jewellery export industry, while his philanthropic initiatives in healthcare, education, and social welfare created an enduring impact that continues to benefit generations.

The Birth of K.S. Durlabhji

In April 1985, the next chapter of this remarkable journey began with the establishment of K.S. Durlabhji by Yogendra Durlabhji, in partnership with Padmashri Khailshanker Durlabhji. Their vision was clear—to preserve the family's unmatched expertise in gemstones while creating jewellery that reflected timeless elegance, exceptional craftsmanship, and uncompromising values.
